Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced it will be partnering with Avon Products Inc. as the global beauty company embarks on a refresh of its IT infrastructure. The deal, announced this month, means that Avon will take advantage of HPE technologies to develop a hybrid infrastructure model, complete with outsourced security, network and monitoring tools.
Avon claims to be the world’s largest direct seller, with more than $10 billion USD in annual revenue. This partnership enables Avon to accelerate its growth strategy in areas such as digital where having a solid IT infrastructure is critical, said Sue Liddie, Avon’s chief information officer, in a statement.
The hybrid IT model enables firms such as Avon to use both in-house and cloud-based services as part of a strategy that provisions IT resources from the cloud with an eye on reducing operational costs. Specifically, Avon will establish a security operation centre at HPE’s global delivery facility and leverage self-service tools, including remote support and data analytics to enhance its end-user experience.
In addition, the company will implement HPE’s tools to monitor and automate distributed server management services, including HPE Operations Manager, HPE Operations Orchestration, and HPE Server Automation, the companies said.
