CHANGES COMING TO THE SCILLY LOTTERY
The Scilly Lottery is premised upon a base of 2,000 players. However, since Covid and the cost of living crisis the numbers
playing have reduced to just over 1,000. This means that paying out £1,000 a week is no longer possible.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that if you are in the draw you will soon have twice the chance of winning a cash prize.
To keep the lottery running, we are changing the format to two winners, £500 and £250 each week, which means the probability
of winning is four times greater than it was with 2000 players. If the numbers playing go up, as we hope they will,
then the 2nd prize (£250) will rise accordingly.
Proceeds from the lottery help with the running costs of keeping Islands FM on the air.
This change to the prize structure will begin with the first lottery draw in April, which will be on Monday 3rd April.
The cost of entering the lottery will remain unchanged.

and our lottery administrator will arrange a refund on any pre-paid entries that have not yet been entered into the draw.
We hope, however, that you will continue to play and enjoy the opportunity of having twice as many chances to win a cash prize.

The Community Radio in the Isles of Scilly Society is operating a weekly lottery that helps to fund the running costs of Islands FM. Each week we award two winners; one prize of £500 and another of £250.
