A maker of rugged tablets has added encryption software to its largest device for users who need improved security.
Motion Computing said its Windows-basedย R12 tablets now carry WinMagicโs SecureDocMย data encryption and security software. The software comes at no extra cost.
SecureDoc offers Full Volume Encryption (FVE), touch-enabled boot authentication, self-help password recovery, Windows 8.1 encrypted refresh and reset among its features. Thereโs a full suite called SecureDoc Enterprise Server, available at extra cost, with centralized management and other capabilities.

The R12 is a 12.5-in tablet for field workers who need a bigger than average screen. Options include a wireless keyboard, barcode scanner and RFID reader.
