A data centre in downtown Toronto received a boost in connectivity capability with a recent point of presence (PoP) deployment in its building by Rogers Communications.
The deployment of the PoP on 905 King Street was carried out by Rogers Business Solutions, a division of Rogers Communication that focuses on providing Canadian enterprise firms with network connectivity as well as voice, data and networking services.

“The 905 King Street facility will offer seamless, neutral connectivity back to the sense set of carriers in 151 Front Street West which is highly valuable to our colocation customers,” said Sean Maskell, president of Cologix. “At the same time, we believe network providers who also have a physical PoP at 905 King Street will be viewed favourably by our customers looking to buy network services.”
Cologix is a network neutral interconnection and colocation company. It has data centres in Toronto Montreal, Vancouver and Dallas.
A point of presence is an access point to the Internet. It is physical location that houses servers, routers, switches and digital/analog call aggregators that typically an Internet service provider (ISP) rents out.
