Ayaka Networks, which started by offering WAN optimization as a cloud service, has now branched intoย ย application delivery as a service.

As this story from Network World U.S. notes, this is a service that runs over Ayakaโs private network, andย does away with the need for corporate network appliances. The company says in a news release ADaaS allows organizations to have โoptimized, consistent access to enterprise applications and Cloud resources from anywhere in the world.โ

An Aryaka spokesperson said this service is aimed at hosted applications that need to be accessed by a widely disbursed user base. An application can be, for example, an FTP server, a partner portal or a Web server.ย Customers pay per application per month, which includes a certain amount of bandwidth per second.

The company is offering aย starter package for young companies with low bandwidth needs ofย US$2,000 a month for one application, which includes 2 Mpbs. Regular pricing starts at $5,000 and 5 Mpbs a month for one application and goes up from there.
