The latest iteration of HP’s big data platform HAVEn comes with three new features including IDOL OnDEmand, an information platform that can be used for handling face detection,video movement detection and metadata.
BARCELONA – HP released version 2.0 of HAVEn, also known as Hadoop, Autonomy, Enterprise Security and apps.
HAVEn is HP’s big data platform which brings together a number of software, hardware and IT services under a single computing and analytics framework.
HAVEn 2.0 will sport three new products compared to version 1.0, which was just an independent tool.
New to HAVEn is Vertica 7.0 with flex-zones for finding dark data of semi-structured data.
Robert Youngjohns, the GM of Autonomy, told a funny story where a banking customer was looking for an insider trader and they thought they could nab this person with an “insider+trading” query.
“No one is going to write that in an email and if they did you’d have to wonder why they were hired in the first place,” Youngjohns said.
HAVEn 2.0 will also have IDOL OnDemand, which makes the information platform available as a series of Web services that can be used for handling face detection,video movement detection and metadata.
