HP releases version 2.0 of HAVEn

The latest iteration of HPโ€™s big data platform HAVEn comes with three new features including IDOL OnDEmand, an information platform that can be used for handling face detection, video movement detection and metadata.

BARCELONA โ€“ HP released version 2.0 of HAVEn, also known as Hadoop, Autonomy, Enterprise Security and apps.

HAVEn is HPโ€™s big data platform which brings together a number of software, hardware and IT services under a single computing and analytics framework.

HAVEn 2.0 will sport three new products compared to version 1.0, which was just an independent tool.

New to HAVEn is Vertica 7.0 with flex-zones for finding dark data of semi-structured data.

Robert Youngjohns, the GM of Autonomy, told a funny story where a banking customer was looking for an insider trader and they thought they could nab this person with an โ€œinsider+tradingโ€ query.

โ€œNo one is going to write that in an email and if they did youโ€™d have to wonder why they were hired in the first place,โ€ Youngjohns said.

HAVEn 2.0 will also have IDOL OnDemand, which makes the information platform available as a series of Web services that can be used for handling face detection, video movement detection and metadata.
