Carbon60 Networks, a Toronto-based cloud hosting company today announced that it has received fresh capital infusion and appointed a new CEO.
The company, which has offices and data centres in Toronto and Kelowa, B.C. and serves the countryโs big three mobile carriers, local enterprise companies and public organizations, said it has received growth capital from Roynat Equity Partners. The company also announced the appointment of John Witte, former managing principal of cloud computing and IT enterprise services firm Alaurian Management Consulting, as Carbon60โs new CEO.
Carbon60 did not say how much it received from Roynat Equity or release any details of the negotiation. Roynat is a subsidiary of Scotiabank. However, the companyโs founder said the new capital will help Carbon60 extend its reach as Witte joins Kelly Beardmore, CTO, and Peter Kelly, VP of service delivery, to lead the companyโs expansion.
โThis capital infusion will enable Carbon60 to expand on its proven track record as a premium provider of hosting and IT support for business-critical Web properties and applications, said Peter Kelly, Carbon60 founder in statement today. โAs a current partner of some of Canadaโs most demanding organizations, Carbon60 can now extend its reach to organizations that need less nothing less than the best cloud computing, managed hosting and applications support.โ
Among Carbon60โs customers are Rogers Communications, Telus, Bell Canada, Dell Canada, Fidelity Investment, Veterans Affairs Canada, Tennis Canada and Tourism Toronto.
Before working with Alaurian, Witte led the Canadian division of Centurylink Technology Solutions (Formerly Savvis). Before that, he was vice president of sales at FusePoint Managed Services where he played a significant role in the companyโs growth which eventually led to its $124.5 million acquisition of Savvis.
